Knowing Miss Julia

Let me tell you
about a friend I know,
her name is Julia,
Ju-li-a, Ju-li-a, Ju-li-a,
this women I knew
her heart was blue,
seems that as a young girl from America
she had met a man
when she had saved her money
and took a summer vacation in Japan,
and while she was in Japan
she met a very special man,
he was as strong as a lion
and as gentle as a dove
and before she had finished
her vacation in Tokyo
she had fallen in Love
with this hard working gentle man,
she and him became the best of friends
and they both believed
the friendship would never end,
for his profession he was an Ironworker,
and shortly after she had gone away
he fell from a bridge he was working on
in the middle of a summer day;
she didn't have the money
to return to Japan right away,
later that summer when she visited
the bridge were he had fell
the trip was a sad one but all went well
she felt his presence there
and she met all his friends as well,
Ju-li-a, Ju-li-a, Ju-li-a,
together they all rejoiced in his life,
sometimes they cried, yet many times
they laughed together as they
shared stories of his life,
together they said prayers for him
and each other, and she had a special
prayer for him to the God they both believed in,
they all threw flowers of remembrance
into the water that flowed under the bridge
and they celebrated the life
their mutual friend had lived.

a sad endingto a beautiful friendship, but the man would smile somewhere in the other life he went to at the celebration of friends remembering him.

A proper eulogy in its way.

More feelings and fewer words please
