          For Her

Here in this twilight calm
of gentle moonbeams
dancing on rooftops,
like a shadow that walks
these lonely evening streets,
I am the ghost moving in
a mirage within a dream,
seeking magic words,
the loveliest ever painted
on the grand-eternal
canvas of the ages or
written with the finest
'voice' of passion in the
immortal book of time …
words of the most perfect
rhythm, sound, and meaning
that could yet somehow make
me visible again and bridge the
space between our hearts to
   win your love.

                      --- b. e. adams (3/5/2016)

There is no pain greater than that of unrequited love!

Bruce, this is a very heart-felt poem. You wove human emotion and our natural surroundings into a tapestry of longing.

"I am the ghost moving in
a mirage within a dream"

What a lovely kind of thought-picture you created here and then to say

"the most perfect
rhythm, sound, and meaning
that could yet somehow make
me visible again and bridge the
space between our hearts to
   win your love"

was just beautiful beyond words!

If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time.

Your words are lovely, Bruce, and your footnote so true.  I'm sure that what we wish for now we will get ... later - over the rainbow perhaps.

Bruce I seem to be having a problem with posting. I felt this one strongly.I can only say love never dies or dries. And age has nothing to do with it.May you find yourlost love soon. Best to you, JO
