On February ninth six years ago, Dottie left this earth and the pain so bad, I'm comforted because her spirit glows. Seems only yesterday love from her flowed, Her real belief in her God made her glad, On February ninth six years ago. She suffered a lot, but still had the glow, Tried very hard to overcome her trials, I'm comforted because her spirit glows. A brave woman, her pain she held so close, Her zest for life grew stronger every day, On February ninth six years ago. I watched helplessly as she fought death's blow, Toward the end she looked at me and cried, I'm comforted because her spirit glows. Very sad to lose the ones we love and care for its true. I'm sorry your wife passed but encouraged by the strength you have to deal with losing her. Thank you for sharing your memories. Bless you Jerrypat! If I were more than I am, I'd see things differently instead of the same all the time. |

Your poetry shows your range is wide, Mr. Jerry.. Now a well done Villanelle..:-) My favorite, strict form..and an excelent one at that...:-) Strong opening tercets..no feeling of forced rhyme which leads to a perfectly constructed quatrain ending... great job-love the form "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."
