"Ash"Painting-"Fiery Epilogue" by
Zhang Huan
*
"Before you enbark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves".--Hussein Nishah
*
Bodies catch fire, easy when lit
By muzzle-blast, or shrapnel-
Some parts rise, and some fall;

Smoke and ashes mix in wind with ghosts.
Dust settles, spirit parts ascend-
But for a while, all factors float
In tainted air.. a gained result
Of evil prayers
Of for the lighting... wished.

Sheep will remember, tales of contrition.
Stories told when they were lambs,
Of heirs, and their demon killers,
Ones who maimed and murdered
Friends, and family with-rancor-
Slayed, their living kindred..
While they rested peaceful in their folds.

Repeat-repeat the holy sounds--
*Tasbih, Rosary..songs in Epistles;

But their sacred meanings will not fruit
When cynics pick, and bump them
Through their thumbs, and fingers-
Beads, and pages will-not make them good
In Gods eyes...good Apostles.

Koran-words, or bible missives
Will not work as prayers for vengeance-
Used for wrong, will foul their penance
When their evil usage calls,
For a fiery epilogue

If only humanity could rise above religious fanaticism and recognize that there is only one law to live by: the law of LOVE. Perpetrating crimes against humanity in the name of our Creator is the most absurd choice any person/divine offspring can make. Our Creator Who goes by many Names wants us to live in peace, loving each other in the way He loves us.

Your poetical offering here is food for thought and indeed we need to point out that vengeance calls vengeance and the evil circle will never end, unless we stop to think in new terms. There are more things that unite people than things that separate them.

We have the tools to provide a life of dignity for every single human being, the critical mass of people who think in these terms is growing ...

Dear Ford, thank you for your "Fiery Epilogue" ... May it be the fire of love burning in all hearts and souls IN THE END!

Love and peace.
