I'm sticking my neck out
for yet another run at romance
at least lust
her eyes are sexy
her purse carries too many door keys
who is she
but I know one or two things
something ain't whot it seems, Mabel
said she was from . . .
at that point she mumbled incoherently
I have a hunch
if I don't  deal the right cards
I'm a goner
I'm beginning to ramble
inhumanly
to be inhuman
is to not be human
that may be me
maybe I'm a psychopoet
license expired
sounds like a deal to me
in our unfeeling and indifferent
world where my poetical expertise
will rescue the world
from itself

yeah, right, dream on
you free verse writin' fool
what about her?

who?

the female you were thinking about
in the beginning
of this conversation

oh, she left
with a roll of her eyes
searching in her purse for all those house keys

Wide smile on my face Jerry as I read through the twists and turns of this piece.
But I gotta say you really captured the way the mind jumps back and forth when we humans talk to ourselves. Almost like dreaming while we are awake.
No woman should have that many keys anyway, for a lot of reasons.......
I enjoyed this very much.

Jerry
Looks like your Cinderella found out she had the keys to the wrong coach..
Like a Belero dancer, she did the stroll right out the door.

I like the gritty reality of this poem..
Thank you for it.

Thank you, Ice. Yup, Cinderella took a powder, and I was left with reheated clam chowder.

I always dreamed of a woman like that JerryPat and that all the keys she would throw at me were for one lock...her boudoir!

But I woke up covered with crushed tomatoes and my wife's glaring eyes instead. I guess I oughta keep my mouth shut when I sleep.

I really dig this poem Southern Lou!

Heh.Heh Funny Ticklefingers. Yes indeed talking in your sleep has been the ruin of many men throughout history.

Thanks for your read and tickling comments.

After reading about this woman of your dreams, for some reason I thought she was wearing a medieval chastity belt for which she had a dozen keys, but sadly none of them fitted the lock.
But why would I turn your dream into a nightmare? So here’s a hacksaw. Go careful.

Har.Har It was almost a nightmare, but you instigated a much better/worst one for sure. Liked that idea about the chastity belt, without the correct key for it. Thank you for a fun comment.

Being a dreamer myself, what else can I say than "Dream on Poet" and share your creations and "creatures" with us. Women with too many keys are a risk factor no doubt, but if you allow this kind of "femme fatale" to know you better, the right one may throw away the superfluous keys!

I love your intimate conversation with yourself.

Hah! That'd be the challenge alright, Margherita, to make my and of love that she would throw away all those other keys. Have to think on that, maybe I would e the man of her ultimate choice, and maybe there would be another dream I could compose. We'll see.
