Transition

Electric orange-cobalt blue
Hair, and clothing;
With just a beer light to guide him,
Ziggy took the tour that always led
Outside the realm of normality-

And into the Labyrinth of Spiders,
That bound him with webs of oddity
To the space of their homeland, Mars.

Transition-Transition

But the Flys kicked his groin,
And the Spiders abandoned him,
As they wanted to stay the course;
But Ziggy needed to change,
Into The Man That Sold The World.

Transition-Transition

Breaking from the maze,
Ziggy spread his Stardust
Where Pinups, and Diamond Dogs
Lived among Young Americans,
Floating  in tin cans
In anomalous space.

Transition-Transition

Now he journeys to a Black Star,
High above the world, without a helmet,
Just a jewel encrusted scull
That holds the gems of ritual,
And sends them down to brighten the world
With timeless rains, of his written music.

Transition.

Thank you Miss Jan.:-)
Like Dylan, Bowie never stuck to the course, and died like Weird, and Gilly.
He kept changing as life went on, and thats how he evolved..all the way to the end .. Watch  the black star video if you can...thanks for the reply

The pleasure is all mine, Miss Lori...:-)
As Dylan Thomas said He did not "go gentle into the good night" His music raged"unti the closing of the light"

Thank you for reading, and the reply

If David Bowie could gaze upon your poem I think he would be pleased with your tribute.

You did a great job, dear Ford.

Thank You, Margherita.

Loved Davids music and films..Musicians that are in a constant state of change like he was are rare, and organic..and so I tried to honor him with a humble poem

69 isn't ancient, but for the times he was around, he may have thought himself lucky to make it along as he did.

Many didn't.

I liked his performances, but wasn't a fan per se. Your poetry says you were and there may never be a better tribute written by anyone about him and for him.

Tickle
His coming up through his ages of musis continued until the day he died, with his latest album release being a couple days before he died. His songs are like complex poetry, that is sometime hard to read, like Dylans music often is. Thus the phrase "Transition/transition, in my poem.
His new album contains the song "Dark Star, which in my opinion represent the struggle for territorial dominance between the west (United States), and the (east) in this case, the daesh, aka ISIL.The black flag of the so called "Islamic" terrorist group.

Thank you for reading, and your reply.
