Fair to middlin' of nowhere

My rose colored glasses
I wear every chance I get.
If I can’t find the bright side
I want to see the denial of pink.
So I can always think
that nothing will ever
happen to me.
But it seems that
every so often
something happens
and those darn glasses
get knocked off.
And I get knocked down
a notch or two.
Just enough to say
“Who are you,
to think you
can pass through
unscathed?”
Despite my shattered lenses
it is clear for me  to see.
Discombobulation happens
more than just to me.

Yep, been there done that, not a pretty picture....
You write so well Lori, your poetry is expressive and from the heart.

Yes Lorie, all my life I was accused of wearing rose colored glasses. At last after I had both cataracts removed I bought a pair eye glasses with light pink lenses. As long as I was able to see more clearly you bet I wanted to wear them. best to you. Jo

Face the fear . . . Looking it straight in the eye . . . Give it that "Lori" stare with a snarling smile . . . It will turn tail and run . . . You may not

but you can most definitely ease the pain.

L. Can relate to those rose-colored glasses,
along with your thoughts.
& I liked seeing that word you
seldom see 'Discombobulation'

Yes, it does, Miss Lori...
We get knocked down in different ways, but we all take shots sometime or other..
Have to enjoy the easy times when they arrive, and balance the whole thing out..

enjoyed the poem

Life viewed through rose coloured glasses, isn’t that a definition of optimism? Sure there will be times when your hopes don’t work out but also there are times when you will turn to yourself and say “There, I told you so.”

La vie en rose.

Yes, indeed, you say it well, dear Lori. It's what I thought when I flew down the stairs a few years ago (tremendously bruised but nothing broken). It takes a second and our pink outlook gets a punch, hopefully not too often!

Love and hugs.

Indeed it does Miss Lori.

May I too say that its good to hear you weren't seriously injured. Glasses of any color can be replaced along with your vehicle.
'Rose-colored' glasses are a view from the heart and require no frames, just you.
