Could be something wrong with your equation, Tick...
E=IxR  
Perhaps your electromotive force, might not have motive enough?
Or , perhaps your flow of electrons is a little slow?
Or maybe, there is a "short" in your wiring, that is causing the resistance?

Anyway , I like scientific poems...lol

The sizzling point may not be reached at the same time, so it may not be a question of resistance but of lack of synchronization. Sounds funny, oh my!
