Happy New Year!
A line drawn
in the sands of time.
From this day forth
the swearing off begins…

Goodbye doughnuts one and all,
so long cinnamon rolls big and small.
No more trips to Dairy Queen for me.
Satan of chocolate leave me be!
Second helpings are in the past.
Potatoes, the die’s been cast.
Do overs for a New Year’s resolution,
ridding my body of pollution.
Cutting back the smokes day by day
I’ll be done some day.
It’s a new day, a new sunrise.
I’ll even try to exercise.

Yeah, it's a tradition with me to start off the New Year with at least 1 lie . . . then the rest of the year is nothing but UPHILL!!  LOL

LOL! Great to start the new year with a laugh my friend. I for one am going to enjoy my denial as long as it lasts (hopefully longer than the xmas cookies did) ~L

I don't believe all that you said are lies. I sense complete self awareness coming from you. You gotta know I'm in your corner.

Why not make an effort to glide over the threshold between years with as light of a load as possible rather than burdening yourselves down with 'resolutions' as soon as the new year starts.

Traditions be damned! You can just as well make up your mind (resolve) on any day of any month if you feel a 'life changer' coming on.

Okay, I said it. Now you can beat the crap out of me!

Okay, I have my wet noodle Tf, your flogging will be at dawn. I get your point and that was what I meant by the reference to a line drawn in the sand of time. I know it seems like a lot to give up, but I shouldn't be eating all that junk in the first place because I'm a diabetic. A very naughty diabetic. ~L

" Now you can beat the crap out of me!"

After what you said to me about Mr Martini TF I would sure like too! That was mean about a quiz test and everything you said! Its okay now but you better stop kidding so much.

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

Well said, dear Lori. It's good to put the resolutions black on white, despite the more realistic title.

But, as Jerry also said, you are aware of the risks and therefore I wish you (and me too!) to succeed in the efforts. Funny, I just began exercising again this morning ...

Good luck and perfect health!

Love,
Margherita
