Madness overtakes us each year
Earthbound children dream of Santa
Riding across the starry night
Right to their house, a present
Yielding, Rudolph-guided sleigh.

Calorie-rich cookies and cakes
Harbinger of hurtful tummies
Radiant, expectant children's faces
Imaginative, unspoiled by truth that
Santa really is dear Uncle Fred
Tanked on too much spiked eggnog and
Merry songs and mountains of food
And watching Tiny Tim one more time
Santa is a wonderful apparition.

To all eager children the world
Over Santa sends his love to you.

All is calm, all is at peace
Loving mom, excited children
Learns dad is home from the war.

Beautiful Acrostic, dear Jerry. You have put in the good and the bad as it is on such - mostly stressful - days. I always try to create Christmas atmosphere, but for the spiritual sphere there seems never to be enough time.

Sorry I am in a hurry, the list is ready, must go and get what's needed, trying to remain patient. I'm dreaming of a White Christmas ... will I ever experience it again??

Merry Christmas in peace to you too, thank you.

Love and joy.

Good morning Jerry Pat. A lovely post. I have eaten most of of the delicious cookies my sweet neighbor brought to me the other day. Yummy she put cut dried cranberries and nuts into them.I had never had that combination and could not resist.LOL
As for shopping I have too many in my family so have finally stopped that chore.I even stopped the checks I used to send. It is their turn to make Christmas happen for their families. Have a nice Christmas Jerry. best to you, Jo

Heh.Heh Gotta love the fact that you've been pigging out on those freebie cookies, and yes, that combination sounds delicious. Cannot blame you for stopping all the "giving." I don't even send Christmas cards anymore, except for one this year.

Merry Christmas to you, Jo, and may the New Year be good to you . . .

Hey you Southern Lou!

Have yourself a great holiday pal! I may try a bucket or two of that tasty (but cheap) California wine you're always belching about!

Now then, I'd definitely say this is a great acrostic, if I knew what an acrostic was.

Sounds like it might be some kind of double-stick tape or something!

Keep 'em tickled JerryPat!

88's and a one horse open sleigh...

Well done Jerry, hope your Christmas is as good as your poem.

I'll toast you with some of that "spiked egg nog" Mr. Bolton. A toast to your good cheer through the new year and beyond.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

Thank you, Lori for saying such nice things about my poem. The poem on Christmas Day will be a little different.
