Tripped into my past today,
found you on every page.
Looks like I knew you before today.
Sounds like the past me had something to say that was stuck on my tongue until now.
Suddenly the feelings I've hidden so well,
want to come tumbling out like a winter snow fall in july.
Unexpected yet pleasent surprise.
I looked into your eyes saw everything that was supposed to be mine when the past was my time.
Handsome, smart and funny.
Call me crazy, insaine maybe.
It seems like there is nothing we can't say.
My courage follows a broken lock that held for to long.
Now it stands untouchable and strong.
Says these feelings are so new,
well for me too.
Here is the deal, this is real.
I've got nothing left to hide.
Because I've tried and realized, I have to say what's on my mind.
The beat in my chest skips, when you text.
The breath I take escapes at hearing your voice on the other side of the line.
When you come around, I feel the butterflies.
The smile that I can't hide.
When we take your truck for a ride.
My night in disguise, or at least that's how it seems.
So forgive me if I'm hesitant to share my feelings.
I hope this poem clears up a few things.
If he reads it, he'll know who he is.
I know this.
There it is, my held secret.
My words seem as sweet as honey
yet they could be, if found
leathal to me.
So as long as this fairytale is what it seems,
his love will protect me.

"his love will protect me".

...and that is all you need. The mortgage and the truck payment will take care of themselves.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

You have opened your heart and expelled things which needed to be said, J.J., and that is good, let th chips fall where they may.

~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~

I feel like I just read a page or two of someone's diary without the guilt of voyeurism.

I think you're bound to be very happy!

Take along some 88's friend

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

Yes, my poetry is in some ways my diary. Thanks for your feedback.
