The Glass Man

The model form,
housing all organs
of the state,
supposed to do away
with flawed humanity,
and at it’s heart,
red as any child’s,
the false, exultant blood
leapt through glassy arms
upraised, perverted
to a monumental proclamation
of hygienic ideology.
That flesh,
that house of glass,
where all could see
that all beneath
was all the same
was still,
is still
so easily ignored.

Exceptional, I would say, Pete! Yes you hit the nail on its head. Great, incisive write.

May awareness grow!

Missed this the first time around . . . Taking it to the limit here I think . . .

my grandpa has a model of a clear man with organs and all that stuff! He told me he made it when he was a boy. It looks really weird but its also pretty cool!

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

Thanks for all the responses. This Glass Man was life sized & made in the 1930's for the Museum of Hygiene in Dresden and it's meaning / original use perverted to serve an evil ideology. It was a picture of this Glass Man that sparked this poem.
Thanks.
Pete
