weeded produce
proud on the vine
shamed in the store

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

Then the solution to the shameful produce is for everyone go out and pick their own . . . 'Course, that might just prove a bigger problem that is worth the effort.

Shamed in the store? by cosmetic appeal?
Not really, the proof is in the tasting... a reward for the hard work of weeding, and care.
You can keep the cardboard tomatos from the store..
Give me a blemished fruit, without pesticides any day.
Am I on the right track, as to what your poem says?

Perhaps something between the field and the store, or just plain old produce. Wilted lettuce, near-black bananas...etc.

In any case DaysofView, you called them as you see them and that works for me!

You say "proud on the vine", so you mean grapes. It is so sad when we see the produce losing its freshness in the stores. Sometimes they travel great distances and they are harvested not really ripe, which makes it worse.

Powerful statement, that lingers.

Sorry DaysofView, shouldn't have come down so hard on you. In fact I didn't think that I was coming down hard on you. Ticklefingers is right though, you called them as you see them.

Price differences between organic and conventionally grown fruits and vegetables are negligible for the most part. One example is carrots, (which I consume in mass quantities). Organically grown carrots where I shop are only ten-cents a pound more.

Understanding your plight DaysofView.
