Snowy Blur~

Staring at twinkling
Christmas lights,
bits and pieces
through snowy blur,
glistening warm tear,
and holly cheer smile.

Pink frosty cheeks,
homemade sleds,
beat you up the hill,
as we chased the cold.

You shagged cars,
I was too scared,
but watched you in awe
as if you were an ice-capades
performer.

Letting go the frozen grip
to bumper,
falling back pretending to be hurt,
me rushing in a slip and slide dash
to help you up,
you pulling me down
to join you in the snow bank
belly laughing as I try to shove
a mitten of snow down your back.

You were mischief with blue eyes,
in one of your far away glance's
hints a glimmer of old soul,
and I know in my knower
you're to bring a special glow to my life,
yet that light will be fleeting.

Warm breath
upon cold frosty pane,
and I finger write your name..
staring at twinkling
Christmas lights,
bits and pieces
through snowy blur,
glistening warm tear,
and holly cheer smile,
Missing,
and Remembering
you...

Ahhh . . . Memories, memories, what would we do without them, Jan. Although some are the hurtful kind as they sorta wear away our thoughts until they are no more than a hazy blur. Still, we search them out . . .

~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~

Love never really leave our heart, something always brings it back. Your poem is a beautiful rendering of that. ~L

"You shagged cars"

We use to call this "skitching", and my recollections of it are pure gold, as is your colorful poem my dear.

Oh I like this one Ms. Rainy--indeed I do.

A preteen poem, perhaps..written just before the teenage rush towards adulthood..

This is what I read here, and the reading was fine..:-)

Jp, The 'snowy blur' came from tear filled
eyes staring at Xmas-lights..while remembering
moments from long ago, Thank you for the
read and comments.

Mr. M,'shagging'...'skitching', must just be a matter
of the part of the country one's from. When I
discovered through a friend that shagging could mean something TOTALLY different
elsewhere & in Briton, had no idea! lol
Thanks for the read.
