haunt

i remember the touch of you
and how it made me feel
so protected and so cherished
beautiful and complete

the silent whisper of illusions
drifted in unnoticed
hiding in my misguided trust
of the love you promised

memories continue to haunt
keeping me running from
that light of happiness that shines
so very far away

If one is truly in the dark, the slightest sliver of light draws you toward it. Without that sliver, one needs to learn the language of the afflicted.

Very thought provoking rosepetals.

This is a very pretty poem rosepetal36! See I told you you could make a title and it is a good one because it made me want to read it!

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

That last stanza is so very full of memories and hurt, very well done.
Thanks
