Wow! Sometimes it happens so quickly (the deer in the headlights)!
With "butterfly kisses", there's no need to call my insurance agent.

That communing with Nature while commuting is a risk for the driver is true, and usually a frightening death for the woodland creatures as well.

We live by a river that is a notorious deer crossing, few in our village have escaped unscathed. I have seen but not touched many.

I guess your supposed to call the sheriff if you hit one. Billy hunts with his dad and brother so he knows how to clean them up if there not beat up too bad.

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

Reminds of driving back down from Cape Wrath at about 2am. One part of the herd is on the left side of the road, the other on the right and you just sense they have an overpowering urge to cross to the rest of the herd. So very well observed. Thanks for the read.

Not unusual to see the road kill with the antlers missing. ~L

Pete,
I know what you mean by having a feeling about them wanting to cross. Maybe it is just constant paranoia but I have a feeling when they are there. ~L
