If not for a loose end
I would have been there
Far afield where blooms
Occur only if you see them
And trees make sounds that
Are the stuff of legends

Loose ends that can
Tighten around a neck
Like a hangman's noose
Choking the mind free of
Its guilt, regrets and sorrows

I would have been there
If not for a loose end
Just one more act of cowardice
Where I allowed fear
To exceed my judgment

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

Eh, I imagine we all have our own "loose ends," Mr. Martini. i know  I do even this late in life. For the most part we learn to deal with them. For the most part.

Kind Sir,
"Where I allowed fear
To exceed my judgment"

Sometimes hindsight is 20/20 and we find that our fear saved our assets.  Our judgment often operates in a vacuum we call hypothetical. The reality actually bites. ~L

"Sometimes hindsight is 20/20".

Forgive me for quoting myself Lori Rhoden, but allow me a moment of facetiousness. Of the 20, I have erred 20. But until I become sufficiently breathless, there is always 21 and beyond.

Merci Beaucoup

Kind Sir,
No one gets to be perfect. But in some games 21 is a winning hand. ~L

My dear Lori Rhoden, both my hands were winning when I was 21.
