I have written of the word LOVE before and some do not believe there is such a feeling ,constant, unforgiving and beautiful. Because I feel too often the word is just tossed out. It seems it is a word used for many things. A new car, a great dessert, a pair of shoes. You can fill in the list.

But I have actually seen True Love. It was in the eyes of my husband, cast to each of his six children when first born. New parents give love that can never be reproached.

And again I saw that look and the smiles of each of those six when they brought home a new born. Those smiles and glances will never be repeated to another, because those feelings are stronger than the look given to any other, even to a first love. Those first six have multiplied to 13 grandchildren and eight great grands. Each one of those newborns including the two adopted, received the precious looks of pure clean devotion as were those born to us. A precious love once known and given is ever alive. Jo Perry

Love is a feeling, just as you so wonderfully expressed from your own experience[s].

Many (I'm moving carefully here) have said that word to me in years now gone by, and yet they are gone, living other lives and engaging that word all over again like a two-dollar bill at Saratoga.

As a word, I attach no value to it. As a feeling and as an action, I can never lose faith in it.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

You are so right, Jo, the word love is tossed around like a Frisbee. I have been guilty of it myself unfortunately. Again, you are correct when you say that the first look given a newborn captures love like no other can.

Thank you Mr.Martini and Jerry. I am pleased to read that you both caught my message. I truly feel this, as I was there to see most of those male faces with smiling eyes and tender touch with those babies. Nothing was ever sweeter than to see and become aware of this.
As for love in my life I was again the lucky one.I think because I had a wonderful father and found even as a young  girl a young man with his great manner. I had forty seven good years and it was so until he died of cancer. Best to you  both and thank you for reading and replying. Jo
