  Fragile Memories

The tentative moon
rides an infinite
field of frosted stars.
A lonely cloud roams
the boundless sky.
Twilight shadows
dance with the
echoes of Time
to Winter’s tune.
This late Autumn
world of ‘endless’
hills hangs on the
cusp of change.
There are so many
strange and lovely
things that we may
  never know.
In this life of fragile
  memories,
which should not exist
the one who forgets
or the one forgotten?

            --- b. e. adams (11/24/2015)

Beauty of nature surrounds us, we live such "busy" lives, we forget to take notice, and all this become fragile memories. Your question begs for deeper thought, both both sides need their place in our memories

Sometimes it's a mercy to forget or be forgotten, so I'd answer neither but that's just me. As always, very thought provoking. Maybe be mindful of lines or fragment's you've used in other poems.
Thanks
Pete

shdreampoet, I'm afraid I don't have the answer, just know this write has a dreamy quality to it, which I enjoyed.

As I began to read your fine poem Mr. Adams, I quickly hovered when reading of the "tentative moon". "Hovering", because of our own existence being indeed, "tentative", and what that means beyond this physical plane never seems to get past theorizing. It is the direct antithesis of "eternal", which the moon certainly is not.

As you say, "there are so many strange and lovely things that we may never know", I would say, "there are so many strange and lovely people I have known".

Some of them, like yourself, are here.

au revoir mon amie

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!
