Such an ordinary soul lives here
within the walls of hide-and-seeking.
Peeking out at all the wide world and filled with awe,
she goes to find again, the well.

She knows that here, her mind can draw out liquid life.
Thought flows and puddles into words that cool the stones.
Weary bones respond with creaking totters.
Dimmed eyes clear, and deaf ears hear again.

When the waters rise enough to fill a verse,
her ordinary soul rejoices and it bathes in genesis.
A mere ripple in the sea of greater voices,
But still----she sings.

Contance my dear, your gift of word warms the coldest...

How colorful your palette. Poetry as yours is born from a void, a void that relates only to what is within, which remains well protected from the immediate without. What a joy that you bring it here.

I believe fortune cookies, regardless of the taste.

Drawing water, I remember that well, the joy of doing, the tinge of sadness when an ending is realised and then the adventure of re-filling the well from the world. Enjoyed reading this very much.
Thanks
Pete

Mr. Martini, your kind words are helping this little poet more than you can know.

I believe in lip balm- just in case there's mistletoe.

Constance love, you are a romantic. A very expressive romantic. May you have returned to you a hundredfold for all you give.

No fortune cookies were eaten in the production of this reply.
