Ghost~Walks

Thoughts of you
take me on ghost-walks,
down muddy trails
of cotton woods and mist,
I remember the vibration
of breasts pressed against
your back as we rode your bike,
leaning into turns
of sweet rendezvous.

Wet leaves cling to shoes
as I pass our spot by the lake,
old tree-stump still there
holding our lovemaking
in the history of its rings.

Your spirit seems to creak
the dock,
I am not frightened,
but lost in the melancholy haunt
of young love.

In the sway of wind
I can picture you there,
moonlight as your lantern,
falling leaves..your hello,
I linger briefly,
blow a kiss into the past,
then make the turn for home.

Simply wonderful! There is a place like this for us all. I remember mine too. Though I couldn't have captured it as beautifully.

smiles,

Tonight while I was driving, my thoughts wandered off to my younger years. Guess I was ghost-driving.
Sometimes a memory comes to mind after so many years and you relive it as if it was yesterday. Your poem vividly describes what happens when a soul takes a leap into the past to reconnect with precious moments.

A romantically melancholic piece.

Yes, sometimes a song, a bit of wind, the sound of waves, can hurl your mind to past memories, and you stand still and savor the moment of remembering. Great write

Rainyday - Sometimes moments like tears get lost in decades of rain. It sure is real nice when you can recall  one on a clear day and it makes you smile. Thanks for the memories. Namyh
