     November Rain

November comes calling
at dawn's twilight window.

The carpet of rainbow
leaves, astonishing Art,
still shines in the cold rain
around the deep green Holly.

Grey clouds and mist
dance to the tune of
a  sad Wintry wind,
through  bare-bone
  trees,’
an ominous prophecy
of all thing to come.

A thousand tiny,
suffering things
are seen no more.
Where must they go?

These empty words
fall and gather at the
feet of this long-dead
oak, to mingle with the
lonely, chilling dreams
and memories of her
  love.

"a  sad Wintry wind,
through  bare-bone
  trees,’
an ominous prophecy
of all thing to come."

These five lines ripped through the poem and gave it not mere substance, but immeasurable life among the dead. For even the trees are sans leaves, their limbs bare, still there is life there. A life that understands the waiting game until spring!

I loved this, Bruce!

Thank you, Margherita!

November and February are the cruelest months (at least for me) ...

secondhand, I'm becoming a fan of your writing,
gorgeous this is, the mood of that Nov. rain,
the images along with the melancholy close, perfect blend.
