My youth has left me, this I know,
The wrinkles in my face,
Tell-tale wattle for all to see,
Yes, youth from me did flee.

I had made peace with my old age,
Youth quenched, I said so what?
I've lived my life both bold and wild,
And did it with a strut.

I actually had resigned myself to it,
Then you appeared to me,
You brought to me your own dark clouds,
I still had mine, that's the key.

My old heart was so enraptured,
Love burst my heart in flames,
Old age gave way to lustful  thoughts,
I'll never be the same.

When the heart dances, feet follow ...

Blessed are those who live to love.

And as you say so efficiently, love transforms.

Great job, Jerry!

Yeah you're right, Margherita , love flat-out transforms . . . Who'd a thunk it at this late date? Thank you for chiming in on my good feelings.

Now who says "old age" can't have lustful thoughts..It's not the very young who has monopoly for it..Great to read this. [been away, haven't caught up with you poets here...been missing this]
