Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Like a bed cover of black lace
being flipped to fluff and fall even and neat
migrating black birds swoop and land in formation
blanketing open fields
They turn power lines into black pinking sheared silhouettes
In unison they take to the wing
blackening the sky with flawless formations
that lace against the dusky sky
Once again lighting in fields to eat
before covering trees for the night

quote:
"black pinking sheared silhouettes"

Your poetry pays *plumage to the comings and goings of the perennial Blackbird.

Great Beatles tune as well.

88's on a great piece of poetry.

Only you, Lori, would conjure up "Black Lace" for the beauty of crows performance outside of your window. So very, very well done..

Thanks TF!
I find nature to be a really great inspiration. The drive to town goes past a place that is very popular with our fine feathered friends and we see gazillions of them during migration.

Thanks Jerry!
I just call 'em as I see 'em. That's what it looked like to me. Now, if my glasses had been cleaner, I'd have written a different poem. LOL!
