         Love Forever Lost

Wood smoke from the world
   of men
dances in the bright-calm air
and mingles with the cool,
fresh scent of pines along
the deep forest edge.
This ancient river mirrors
the falling Autumn leaves,
like rainbows in a dream,
just before the long-shadow
  sunset.
A blazing moon of grand
  magnificence rising
fires the mind and heart,
until even time is singed
by burning memories
of love forever lost and
the knowing that she will
never come again.

This I know to be true.
                         ...and so do you.

Good poetry SHDP.
