“Atlas Shrugged:Revisited”
10/23/15

A second hand Hercules attempts to bare Atlas’ load
constricted by a tunic tailored for one half his age:
Whilst,
armored with rusted plate mail, designed for one twice his size
and an overwrought helm, his visage is cumbrously blinded

Such are the vestments of a hero straining,
head bowed;
shrouded in an artificial night ,eyes silently screaming:
Tout muscles invisibly defy
the trepidation which they help to provide

Alas, this battle he fights is not all it seems
for combatant and spectator’s perceptions are skewed:
Where the combatant sees pain stubbornly undefined
the spectator sees a picture fuzzily generalized:
However, neither side perceives the truth

For mental strife isn’t transparent,
it’s conquest not so readily achieved;
Anxiety’s War belies rationality

No doubt.

Strategy without, Prozac within.
