Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Happy is a color
when gray is a way  of life

instant gratification is a fleeting smile
when an hour seem like forever away

self-satisfaction is impossible
when everything seems endless
and always incomplete

being true to yourself is precarious
when your brain lies to you
misleading your emotions down
dead ends

; the choice to continue…

THIS is one heavy post, my friend. Each line is worthy of deep pondering. Great poem!

Thank you! ; has come to be the symbol for not choosing suicide. Millions battle with it every day and many succumb to battle fatigue. I understand, I empathize, I reach out and vow it is something you just can't do, no matter what. ~L

Suicide is always an option. 'Options' don't discriminate between right and wrong, they just exist and have ever since since the original garden party'.

While there is no foundation for my 'hypothesis', from my romantic point of view, Adam was the first 'suicide', having chosen to do so knowing Eve was soon to die.

Two of my own family chose this path for reasons of their own. The first was in 1962 and the other in 2000.

I consider it a thoughtless selfish act that does not have to happen. That 'we' who remain not only have to tough this life out ourselves, but also carry an undeserved burden of memories, regret and even remorse.

Love is not always convincing. The word comes and goes with such ease many feel it is only said in order to obtain or otherwise manipulate.

Real feelings don't need to be heard. When someone hugs you, what do you feel? Only if they break your ribs or your pocket watch will you hear anything. If its genuine and performed as an act of love, you know it don't you? That goes for any 'acts' however they may be performed.

These feelings make one feel wanted and appreciated. When one feels this way, they want time to never end, and that is something we all can do something about.

Wonderful, thought-provoking   writing Miss Lori.

I do believe I am so outclassed as to worry a bit.

Yes it is an option TF, and under terminal situations I believe in a right to die with dignity. So you are right it is about not inflicting pain on the ones that love you. I have to believe that pain would always be greater than my own. Thank you for sharing your experience. ~L
