No point in asking why
It wouldn't have played any different
This is how it went down
Now you can take it or leave it

She was an ebony princess
He was a slug from the mills
But she could set him laughing chum
And he'd feel like a king

He'd throw down a bottle of 'tel
She'd have the best of his cold duck
He gave her that which he had
She gave him what she would

It was out among the terraces
That always seemed to be afloat with the ladies
That he drifted in hollow-eyed and dusted
Her lips were still shining from giving change

There below her gifted lips
Was a drawl that could maim a member
And he was sailing high on colas
Looking through her low cut sweater

She took him to her quilted quarters
Where sainted Mardi's left their Gras
She zipped him down in twenty seconds
Left his change spread on the floor

Brandy snifters, longing wishes
She was the Hoover of the Damned
And of the small dark tailored dandy
The gutters claimed his last command

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

"Hoover of the Damned" . . .

An ingenious way of renaming the old standby.

You are refreshing, Ticklefingers . . .

Many thanks JerryPat!

A little 'tailoring' was necessary to make it a better fit.

I have resisted responding as long as I can... I'm sorry, but the Hoover here has caused me to say this sucks!   No rotten tomatoes please...I know it is a bad pun... just shoot me...I couldn't get it out of my head...just the way I roll my friend, silly as the proverbial goose...~L

Don't feel sorry Miss Lori. I fully understand your disdain and respect your point of view.

I had considered Eureka, Kirby, Electrolux and even Oreck, but none of those had dams named after them.

Seriously though, good, bad or indifferent, many thanks for checking it out.
