You were always there to nurture, or say a positive word.
You were always there for support, for ideas no matter how absurd.
You were always there to comfort, when things did not go right.
You were always there to reassure, from bad dreams in the night.
You were always there to help with the cuts and scrapes we got.
You were always there to help cool us down, when the days were too hot.
You were always there even after we were considered full grown.
You were always there for a recipe to loan.
You were always there no matter what may be the issue.
You were always there even if just to offer a tissue.
Now we face a pain greater than any we have ever known.
How do we cope with giving up the one who made a house a Home.
Of all the times we needed, a touch, a hug or a kiss.
Being able to say “You were always there” is the one I am going to Miss!

I am so very, very sorry your mom is gone. My words mean little in my attempt at giving you solace, but my thoughts are with you in these painful days.

She's still 'there' in each and every word that flows from her devoted son's pen.

Oh, this one got me. There is no answer to the question you pose, but remembrance will always be warm in your heart, and that alone can bring comfort in the face of things to come. A lovely tribute this was.
