Shade changing trees hiss with wind,
birds move closer, feverishly feeding for winters hunger.
Through wind and spider gossamer,
flower seeds fly, looking for a warm bed.

Beyond swirling leaf vortex the
shadow of Pan, leaves shrivelled summer
on the briars, elongated by spark white
sunstream, taking dusk with him,
leaving molten pewter skies to silently
calm people peacefully.

Darker now the nights of
ghosts and witches and lonely stars
portending winters approach,
waymarkers of seasons soon to fade with change.

walk the moonlight path through the dark woods...i await your return..

Wonderful piece of writing.

"Darker now the nights of
ghosts and witches and lonely stars
portending winters approach,
waymarkers of seasons soon to fade with change."

I like these lines very much... they describe how I often feel when old fears re-surface as life transitions through its different seasons.

I enjoyed this poem. Thanks for sharing it.
