17 July 2015

Grant him the peace that he desires.
May inner torments ever cease.
Wrap his shoulders in sunlight warmth
and lift his eyes and heart to skies
of baby-blue and fluffy clouds
the shape of better dreams to come.
Bring him memories of what we shared
and make him happy as we most times were.
Kiss his lips in breezes soft
that make him feel loved as before
and may he never ever know
these joys were sent from me.

The humbling close of your poetry reflects the goodness within you. Everyone needs a friend such as you, but is being needed enough for yourself?

It is my wish for you that it is.

88's to you friend.

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

Thank you for your very kind message, TF.  I don't know what 88's are.

As a piano player, '88's are a wish to bestow good fortune and happiness to someone. JerryPat2 seemed to grasp it right away, but then he's been here, there and everywhere.

(Though the relationship between extending "88's" to someone and the piano is purely coincidental, the old wish always feels appropriate and I always use it sincerely.)

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

The beauty of these words is exceeded only by the generosity of the heart that penned them. It's easy to wish ill on those who've left us wounded... but this is proof that the caring shouldn't stop just because the love didn't work out.

I hope that out there somewhere... someone wishes this for me. Regardless, I'm not just reading your words, I'm praying your beautiful prayer and wishing blessings for him!!

What an absolutely exquisite and heartwarming reply from an absolutely exquisite soul!  Thank you, Ruth.

Thank you for praying the prayer too.

You deserve so very, very much more than a prayer like this!  You deserve only the very best!
