Don't believe it when they tell you that Time Heals all wounds Because that isn't true It's been years and I'm still quite broken Time may be a faithful and diligent master But he's no one's nurse maid With Time My broken soul did set But only into the jagged, crooked lines that were made When it was first broke And the only comfort Time has given Is the knowledge that he won't ever let me go back Even if I never move forward |

Nope, I agree time does not heal old wounds, Almost Wholehearted. What time does is cause the hurt to dim enough that we can get on with our lives. But heal them? Not hardly. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

"And the only comfort Time has given Is the knowledge that he won't ever let me go back" Sometime Time is a whole lot smarter the we mere mortals are!! j. |

Thank you all so much!!! AW I think our capacity for wholeheartedness can never be greater than our willingness to be broken-hearted." Brene Brown |

You're right... time doesn't really heal...the pain lessens but it's always there.... beautifully written.. |

To each of your own experiences, you are of course, quite right. Perhaps I feel differently because though my deepest wound occurred 15 years ago on May 8, 2000, the time from then to now has modified my thinking. Time is the space between events and it has, for me, closed the wound thus healing it. Once closed (accepted), it could then be placed in highest priority in my old book of memories. 88's all. She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Wounds heal, that's just the way things are. But they all leave scars. And not all scars are visible. This is a thought provoking piece of work and I thoroughly enjoyed it. |
