The Husk of Love

A tide-swept shell
bleached bare by
the Summer sun,
swept clean in
the bright-clear
moonlight,
form without
function  ...
such is the lover
abandoned
to Time’s
fugacious
whimsy.

Hah! Lovers absconding is par for the course.

I AM that "empty shell" from too many loves lost to the tides of Time ...
sadly, there has never been anything I could do about it ...
but, as philosopher Leo Buscalia (Dr. Love) said ... "If you truly love
someone, you need to know when to let them go!"
