I look for you in the glow of starlight
I feel your presence though I am stone
and you become a mysterious torment
a whisper in a place with eerie keening.

I collapse in my knees, stunned and passive
pain beats like a soundless drum
you carried away the magic of our past.
All I have left is mere bravado.

In the watches of the night
I suspect daylight will be brief
time is an illusion for you're not there
the reality of our love a flimsy veil.

Ring the bells of a lost lover, hearken to the words pleading in vain, only to arrive at "a place with eerie keening."

You have bewailed a lost love's credo for millions who are of the same fate. Very well said, jjote.

Sad, but very efficiently rendered, dear Josefina!

Love,
