I am a poet and a dreamer.
The words I write may not mean
   a thing to you,
But they are the songs that play
   in my head,
The pain that lives inside
   my heart.
They are the sun on a cold
   winter day.
And that soft scented breeze
   on a warm summer night
They talk to me.
Sometimes they may talk to you.
The poet hopes they do.
The dreamer doesn't care.
The poet wants you to live, breathe,
eat every word.
The dreamer just does.
I am a poet and a dreamer.
Some of you will understand.
Some of you will just shake your heads.
I am a poet.
I am a dreamer.
It makes perfect imperfect sense to me.

"they are the songs that play
in my head"
~most apt thoughts here, & throughout.
