Fair to middlin' of nowhere

They are grown now
The days that begat them
are long forgotten memories
that that twinge and tug
random and faceless.
They are identical,
split of the same seed.
So difficult to discern
one from another,
they are often mistook:
Excitement, Anticipation,
Anxiety and Dread.
I believe I’m with one
until feelings say another.
Or perhaps they play
trade places
when my thoughts stray.
However hard I try
to keep them straight,
it is a shell game
I cannot win.
I think the problem lies
in a lack of discernment
within my adrenaline.

You really put that pretty head of yours together to come up with this one, Lori. I am fascinated with the poem, have read it three times, and I know for a fact I will be back to read it again. Amazing!!!!

Thanks for saying I wasn't guano crazy on this one. I'm not thinking anybody is gonna be able to relate to this. I'm just venting my frustration with myself.
I can't tell you how much your generous compliments mean on those days when I'm feeling like I really need to step it up several notches just to break even.
Wah wah wah ~L

Hey! They're not "generous compliments," they came from the heart . . .
