The Gecko from Maleco

I'm not sure
when he first came in;
one day he traveled from
my back yard,
seems like he decided to
move into my home,
otherwise I live alone
so I tolerate him,
at night when I
turn on the bedroom light
gecko is there
hanging around on the wall,
doesn't even run when I
callout his name,
"I see you Gecko from Maleco",
he doesn't panic or run,
seems like he's having too much fun
hanging on the ceiling,
walking on the walls,
Gecko doesn't seem to have a care
in this world, he moves around nicely
and doesn't ever fall;
when I chase him around
for a second or two
yelling "Gecko from Maleco,
I'm gonna get you."

Gecko is a tropical lizard
with a short body and a
large head and suction pads
on his feet, good for sticking
to walls.

We have geckos here too, James!  I loved your poem, but hope you don't chase the little sweetie-pie too much.

For what reason I have no idea, but my mother called all geckos Oscar.
