Shadow of a Lie

So how are we to do this—?  Turn this day unto the past?
When it feels sealed by fate’s kiss, and the wounds are still so vast.
Gave absolute trust to you, you handed me back torn shreds.
Once I know I’ve been lied to, watch as anxiety spreads.

Caught somewhere in the tangles of truest love and shattered trust,
The uncertainty mangles all till all you’ve left is dust…
My heart is so forgiving, I wish you would not deny;
For I can’t go on living in the shadow of a lie.

Done once unchecked, it comes again’ I won’t live in that fear.
Though never will look to this “when” where I won’t shed a tear.
Told you that friends we’d always be, my love, we always will.
A friendship built on honesty, I so wait for that still.

Not a lot left to say here, numbing self and moving on.
With the destiny unclear built upon this lifeless dawn.
‘Will not look to the stars above, nor linger in this want…
You’ll always be my everlove… I, just your everhaunt.
