Search my memory for things I’ve forgot,
Good memories, or maybe they were not.
Eh . . . all lost, though I search for that lost child,
I shriek in horror as though I’d been defiled,
I‘d never want to return there again.
Although I know there had to be good men.
Would that I could bring up things I’ve forgot,
Something tells me it would all be for naught.
Still . . . There is one name I cannot forget,
She was quite older, I remain in her debt.
That recall can’t die like showers in spring,
What she taught me filled my heart and I sing.
We met quite brazenly, and she brought beer,
Why we didn’t get caught isn’t quite clear.
I oft wonder if she regrets what was done,
For she was my own Mrs. Robinson.

"I‘d never want to return there again."

~glad to see you write this out, even in somber tinges as it were. Releasing *some
pain (a lil at a time) seems much safer than
all at once in some cases & I adore the way you flavored your dark moment with a sweeter
(almost joy/sting) image of your Mrs. Robinson, as it correlates greatly in
bitter-happy memories here.

Excellent soul~search, Jerry..

No, Tanya, I never went back to that little Arkansas town. I have a sister-in-law and we talk from time to time. A lot of dark moments I lived through in my hometown. My Mrs. Robinson was not one of those dark moments. I remember and still smile at what we had for a short time. Thank you for you excellent comments . . .

Oh, there are good people in the town I grew up in, but I never fit in, my mindset was not of their mindset.
