Fair to middlin' of nowhere

There’s a man down on
the swamp
Sittin’with his still
in the quiet
where he can think.
Now you might find
it to be madness
if you saw his thoughts before
he put them to pen and ink.
And you won’t see him
use corn squeezin’s
to make his secret recipe…
He just taps his swampy noggin
to make his Moon shine
on a log in a poem he’s writin’
that takes us there-
eye to eye with a ‘gator’s glare
and a voo-doo scare!

Glad you like it. Your "stream of consciousness" poem, Poetry Causes Insightfulness, gave me the idea of "brain squeezin's" which led to the  still and moonshine metaphor. ~L
