Chaos to Calm

Giving exasperated sigh
As Chaos stars the night,
I walk the lonesome alibi
Of need no reason why.

The angel fallen before me,
Spread alabaster wings.
Statuesque for the world to see,
But I hear what she sings.

This graveyard, but a mimicry
Of the pain found in life.
We dance in perfect symmetry
These catacombs of strife.

The melody’s haunting refrain,
Our legacy of truth.
We come to the chorus of pain
Discovered in lost youth.

I see her tearing eyes of stone,
And feel a crushing weight.
Feel chill of winds so shrilly blown,
And cruel whispers of Fate.

Fall to my knees before that face,
And lay my roses down.
Giving my soul for her embrace,
Abandoning dark crown.

I pray for peace, I pray for light,
To change back that stone skin,
Yet know by nature of her plight,
‘Tis but my selfish sin!

The curse reversed grants yield of touch,
Yet costs my love her wings.
A fair price for flesh held in clutch,
And the world to hear her sing.

"Giving my soul for her embrace,
Abandoning dark crown.."
~sighing here, you epitomize *selfless*
in deed/desire- not selfish..and beautiful for the thought.

Of crown and wing
they matter not,
When pitting Time
in lonely onslaught.

Pardoned by Love
are two decreed,
With new wisdom
together. freed.

My fancy is tickled that you
answer challenge with *this.
well met darlin' (both lines)

all a'flutter

Jer & Lori, thank you for the kind words.

Tanya, and I even got to hear you sing in reply, too.  You are beautiful, love.  Thank you.

Michael
