Memory's canal lay weeping,
Maiden pours cooled wine.
I mull, a transparent cocoon
eyes deep in dark-ember'd fire.

She speaks in foggy whisper
to weigh stones in my mind.
Head-tilt in shadow, she reaches
body-shakes grow tamer on time.

Crackle-sounds deem hungry flame
She wraps me in billowing folds.
I strangle a gasp at power there
in All those changing eyes hold.

She claims ability to heal each ache
"But first, scratch off old scabs.
To start with a clean settled slate,
we must accept all we have had."

I resist the burn as it spreads,
relieved only to breathe again.
For, if this Grace shall save me
I'd gratefully shed prior whim.

So eloquent, She holds me inside
I lap at bliss invading my bones.
Shuck off the dust of many roads
present my soul- through Her folds.

In tears, She eyes the gaping hole
takes my offer sweetly in hand.
Gives back a new me- shiny, complete
with a small shard in hints of a man.

Adoring raw, now rubbed so smart
I see dark glowing pieces of me.
'Neath glittered-haze & crystal's stain
lay Deity's grant of new destiny.

Humbled am I, given future advice-
"Live habitually to remain free..
Love only best, with adoration of self
In one man- will you staunch every bleed."

Deity gone, a soul-beat in time-
I stand much larger than I seem.
Kiss Her lips, on wind of thanks;
I bask in warm-gone of Her breeze.

And I cannot, cannot go.."

I absolutely RELATE to this masterpiece of yours, Devina. I have spent many, many years jive-shucking my past when I should have been coming to terms with it. My two-lost decades were rife with the bad-boy image. Love 'um and leave 'um my motto. I spent the rest of my life (until the present) trying to live that lifestyle down. A woman a few years back gave me the insightful reason to actually lay my burdens down. All except one. I hid that from the world and even from myself, Devina. It took yet another woman to steer me in the direction where I am completely free from all of the debris of my past. You poem got me stired up, it seems.

Great line that.  Bearing witness to the new you come shinning through has been a remarkable and miraculous thing, Tanya.  A beauty to behold.  *Remembering everything, always.
