The Man Living in Her Heart

I wanted to
believe in you
believing all your
sweet words were true,

but the
words spoken
about love
by you,
were far
from true,

and now that
we're apart
its easier
to understand,
i'm not
the man
who lives
in your heart.

Wow! Did that come to be the opposite of what I thought I'd find here. A sad thing to realize...that "words were just that, nothing more." You startled the reader much as how he was startled at the realization.
