Exes and O’s

I found myself musing today
An image from the past.
Been some fifteen years since that day.
The time has flown so fast.

She only wore the comforter
Pulled from the bed, outside.
‘Cept for the touches offered her,
And not one was denied.

I watched her practice her smoke rings,
She really was quite good.
Just one of many, many things
This girl understood.

Then, with the cigarette finished,
We let ourselves back in.
Memory lies undiminished…
The what—the where—the when.

A day of magic, ne’er forgot,
I still cherish those eyes
In the answer of passions sought...
I still see that surprise.

Fate now offering us encore,
Of dream Time could not break.
With two exes as one, once more,
Just think what O’s we’ll make.

sshhh...I want to listen to those soft love bubbles popping in hushed succession.(like in the old Bugs Bunny/cupid cartoons? or in charlie brown? classic fantasy platform by/for adults!)

Can't help but hear it now, in all that you've captured from years past!
lovable-irony, you are, Michael.

Ahhh . . . What a damn fine poem, Michael. Sounded familiar in the beginning, but came on very spontaneous as I kept reading. Hah! loved the hell out of this . . .

Tanya, my memory is 20/20 for that one particular night.  A memory I would not trade for anything in the world.  Speaking of irony... How did we end up here?

Jer, yeah, I know you've been waiting for one like this from me for quite awhile.  thank you for always pushing me forward, though I seem to have found my happiness in the past anyway... just back a bit further than I was looking.

Thank you, Lori.  Found myself in an exceptionally good place when I wrote this.

ummm...met back in the middle?

...that is a song lemme think...

"you start walkin' your way
and I'll start walkin' mine
we meet in the middle
'neath that old Georgia pine..."
country, that be
um, diamond rio I think? (stop smirking)

mush, I tell you.

Tanya, Yup, that's how it all began didn't it.  Bringing up that song, I might think you have an even better memory than me.     Mush indeed!
