In Poetry

A man knows well the things that be,
And those that won’t, if longed to see.
He walks his world, a shallow breath
That lingers between dream and death.

So very few have met him here,
And most who did, were insincere.
And yet you’ve taken up this dance
Once more, beckoning of romance.

He sees your pause, understands well,
The very slope ‘pon which you fell.
He knows the pain of memory,
How sometimes we’re never set free.

And not sure what he’s left to give,
How could he dare ask you forgive
His inclinations to love you?
To hold surely, more than he’s due.

In this, his world of poetry,
He views your dance a dignity
He never could be worthy of,
And so gives you lead of his love.

Reality, guarded as such,
At least he can offer this much.
In poetry, a soul laid bare,
With nothing but his love to share.

Beautiful thought this morning, Michael. A new day, eh, with old fears to conquer. I am delighted for you.

And love is the best gift to share, always! Dare, dare to love!

Absolutely  beautiful, a light shimmering through the fog dispersing from the past memories.

Much enjoyed.

Tanya, I'll meet your sigh, and raise you one *giggle.

Jer, yep, it feels like a precarious ledge I am walking on at times... Hope slow and steady wins the race.

Margherita, Indeed.  the vision seems perfectly clear, for once.

Thank you all for the kind replies.

lori, I always thought myself the hopeless romantic, seems there was hope there after all.  Thank you for your kind words.
