Halo askew and tarnished...
tipping to the right,
I raise stern brow in warning...
(figured that you might)
Singe my fend with sour-
and pull that altered fight.
Tongue in cheek I pause, and wait...
Slippin' in my dark-fume,
Keyed-up on irons of debate.

Wing rips hard, first stone is thrown-
Verbals hit, Too close to home,
I flounder air to dodge that tone.
Cast aside, you dare to dream-
that I'll bow down on whim, it seems...
No? (I'm tossed goat-slitted gleam)
Sucking breath from precipice-
I'm rankled even as I croon:
"Take a walk and leave this-
But grab that sidewalk soon!"

Arsenal in question now-
big-bear blame is overdone,
You've no right to lap on proud-
Your win? It's gone un-won.
Silenced lies, still thick on me,
my raw turned red, as burnt with sun.
(grand to see you've noticed!)
In fits of irony? I'm zero-one, undone.

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

You gave better than you received in this verbal bit of warfare, and I have to believe you also gave more love and desire than you received also. Most relationships fail when one is giving all and the other is taking it, but not returning said love and desires.

Jo- You honor me with your read, ty SO much fer poppin' in, lady! Never fret, I peek-ah-boo on occasion too

Jerry- And right you are on both counts, insightful dear! It seems dissension grows when things go sour after so many years...simple words become verbal warfare...I just add casualties to top my insults maybe? but oh...never a'purpose, you know...

ty both

See, I knew you had more in your arsenal that me.  The first time I read this it scared me.  The more I read it the more genuine that feeling is.  I see too much of what you must've edited out for this "g" forum I think.  I got an extra bottle of "Stubborn" in case you're running low after this one.
