Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2015-05-02 12:25 PM

The last ray
of colored light,
my last delight
has gone gray
No more anticipation
of forbidden gratification
No more death in disguise
wrapped in wrappers super-size.
My future gray to a fault-
ne’er again to see another malt
And days of doughnuts, my friend,
have come to an end
Oh woe is me
if I would only eat one
of something sugar free
and then be done…
But no,
it isn’t so
and without I must do
Now, my food has gone gray too

I hope you stay with it. There are ways to eat healthy without sacrificing taste for the most part. Sweets now is another matter . . .

The biggest problem I have with eating healthy is my main 2 food groups: cholesterol and carbohydrates... ~L

Spent Monday night in the hospital due to diabetes.  I know about the never-ending pokes and prods.  My hear goes out to you.  I was a man of few vices, didn't smoke or do drugs at all when I was diagnosed.  I felt it was a cruel curse implemented on me to take away one of the few things in life I allowed myself to indulge in... food.  I know what you're going through.  ((hugs)) to you.

Michael, my heart goes out to you! ((hugs)). I've taken my diabetes for granted and never gotten "sick" from it. Okay, a couple of times my numbers got a little low and I got woozie...No big deal. I've been very lucky.~L

stay well gal and hang tough...

I find it easier to stay away from the no-no's if you give 'em a nice long dirty look as you walk by

Excellent idea! Mentally, forbidden food, has become just another cigarette to me as far as dealing with that "want it can't have it" feeling goes. The more I think about it, those cookies in that jar do hack me off. One nice long dirty look coming right up!~L
