I strive for the darkened spread-
of this nights' whimsy Moon...
Want Maiden wrapped around me-
A shield, of earth and tune.
Ever the ardent stranger-
I beg of macrocosms' seed
"rise up hard and tall"
that I might slow-dance-
'mongst brambled-weed.

Vinous and thorny,
I offer sacrifice
in harnessed bleed,
hips pattern a salutation
and kiss it to the breeze.
In totality, a curse of verse
I feel Her reigning down
weak paroxysm in parody
of granted wishing sounds.
placid now, nerve in calm
wounds scab into history
me, on knee of wizened rock
piercing slight, these tender feet.

On winding path with ancient staff-
'tis been bled dry this night,
Moon winks in perfect favor
and scuttles out of sight.

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

Oh boy! Tanya, you have penned perfection within the lines of this sensuous poem of passion and the cosmos. These lines blew me away . . .
quote:
On winding path with ancient staff-
'tis been bled dry this night,
Moon winks in perfect favor
and scuttles out of sight.

I have read it three times . . .

Well, I tried to reply to this yesterday but my hands just ended up hovering over the keyboard for some 10+ minutes.  Ummm, still stuck for an appropriate response here. You painted quite the picture, that's for sure.  Lovely and provocative.  Reminded me a lot of the good ol' days.

Both?  Oh, you mean stubborn me and stoic me.  Times are tough, they have to share the same room in my head now.     I want a Beltane pic btw!
