A Death In This Family

It's not the shadows
that lurk in the hollow,
dark areas,
where mismatched corners meet;

nor is it the shoes
so perfectly placed
at the foot of the bed we shared;

and pray,
don't let it be the darkness in my heart
where love so brilliantly glowed . . .
but, it is.

And not because love has tarnished,
or dulled.

It is because there is a death
in this family,
and though I die with every second,
of every day . . .

it was not mine.

Jimmy!
Jimmy you don't rip one's heart out with this one, you fillet it with the skill of a surgeon!  Ah, you make it hurt so good, you really have a gift.~L

Having recently accepted that I can indeed exist without the soul I left "with him"... knowing I'll never be the same but rather liking the me I have become... I've lived this, survived this and love this!!!

Great bit of writing, man. The pain is substantial, and the misery foremost ., . .

We all (or most at least) endure at least one similar situation in our lives (particularly our "young" lives), or think we do anyway, when we're teenagers (lol), and really it's all about when we say enough is enough and  how we pull ourselves out of the morass we've found ourselves in, that determines the person we're to be.

Your views and comments always touch my heart.
