in the shadows

Chasing magic's crackling light
out past dreams' crystalline bright,
running onto nightmares' broken bottle rage,
these are days of madness
solitude and sadness;
foolishly
I thought with age emptiness might pass me by,
but tyranny of soul belief
dancing with reality
fleshing out assumptions filling culture,
proves poignant counterpoint to life,
and on bitter edge of deep abyss
resonant vibrations in eternity's bliss conflate despair
and so appears awareness there.

Age has done nothing to calm my mind. Maybe that's a good thing...better than a blank stare I guess.

Having been there, I know there's nothing I can say, other than, your thoughts in this piece, hit hard and punch holes in hopes and aspirations... Nice writing

It's deep in the dark where the reality lives...

I enjoyed the trip through this as I can relate.

"resonant vibrations in eternity's bliss conflate despair
and so appears awareness there."

Love those lines!

"I thought with age emptiness might pass me by"...I can feel the longing for fulfillment which sometimes is difficult to find. But keep on searching, sometimes it's just right there all along.
